The Community Foundation of Tampa Bay
("Community Foundation" or
"Foundation") is a trusted administrator of endowment funds and is supported by a broad spectrum of individuals, families, corporations, and private foundations.
We connect donors who care with causes that matter. And we are proud to report that Foundation expenses are significantly less than one percent of total Foundation assets.
Mary Irene McKay Falk's wish to
provide scholarships comes true every year "Julia" arrived at Scoutcrest Girl Scout camp a little scared. She was used to edgy city streets, not green trees, cozy tents, and swimming in a lake. She discovered that chicken and vegetables wrapped in foil and cooked in the coals were delicious.
At dusk, her leaders led a 'spider hunt.' Holding their flashlights at eye level, the girls spotted dozens of tiny yellow eyes among the greenery. She learned which frogs made which calls, and even saw a half-grown armadillo.
Thanks to the Mary Irene Falk Campership Scholarship Fund established by the David A. and Mary Irene Falk Memorial Fund advisors, over 200 underprivileged Girl Scouts like Julia have discovered new friends and the beauty of nature in experiences tailor-made to show them other possibilities in life. The creation of this scholarship fund is a legacy that will be honored in perpetuity by the Foundation.
For 18 years, your Community
Foundation has enabled residents and organizations to make a positive impact on our communities
-
by safeguarding the funds entrusted to it, now valued at more than $140 million, and
-
by
distributing
earnings to many
needy programs and
projects deemed
worthy by our
donors, grants
committee, and
trustees.
The Community Foundation is a vehicle that supports new and existing programs of local nonprofit organizations in addition to its own community- focused programs. Its endowment is a flexible source of capital used to meet the changing needs that time and growth bring to a community.
